Gravitas Bakes Up A Storm!

Gravitas Bakes Up A Storm!

Gravitas has launched the Summer of Giving initiative in August, whereby our Gravitonians spend time volunteering and fundraising for local charities across the globe to give back to our local communities.

Gravitas Leeds held a cake sale to raise money for Leeds North and West Foodbank, who provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to the local people of Leeds.

They raised £124.88 from the cakes sale and used the donations to buy food to be donated to the foodbank.

Here’s what one of Gravitas’ volunteers had to say about their experience of the cake sale….

“I really like the idea of being able to get involved with something for charity. It’s sometimes hard to organise something in your own time, so being able to combine this with work is great. It’s also a really good opportunity for team building”

Some of our Leeds Gravitonians will also be spending the morning assisting the Leeds North and West Foodbank with donation collections towards the end of August.

Gravitas London also held a cake sale during August. This time to raise money for the Whitechapel Mission, who help and support the homeless in London.

They raised a showstopping amount of £155.56 and used the money to buy clothes, food and toiletries to help provide for those who need support from the Whitechapel Mission.

Here’s what one of Gravitas’ volunteers had to say about their experience of the cake sale…….

“I really enjoyed the whole experience from fundraising to donating. I was so warmed by how readily people were to donate to such a good cause, it’s inspired me to commit to volunteering at least twice a year”

Some of London Gravitonians will also be spending the morning volunteering at the Whitechapel Mission in November, whereby they will be assisting with the collection of clothing to help support the homeless in London.
